The internet is, in essence, a thousand monkeys working at a thousand typewriters. Occasionally, it is the best of times, but much more often it is the blurst of times.
I can't quite determine where this falls, though. It seems both really creepy and really good at the same time, but also very... odd, in general.
I suppose that this brings me to the question: why am I watching an internationally acclaimed actor read the Apple end-user license agreement?
My answer, per usual, is just "it's the internet". But does that even mean anything? Why do total non sequitors amuse us so much for no reason at all? I mean, I would understand if this was humor, but while watching the above video, I don't think I laughed once. My thought process was pretty much this:
"Hey, this is cool.
Things are happening.
These things are unexpected, but not in a funny way!
I have been satiated for the day.
Now I must go share my newfound discovery with others so that they too may be fulfilled!"
I'm ashamed to admit it, but even after four years of blogging and (having been born in the mid-90s) growing up with it, I still don't have the slightest idea what the heck the deal is with the internet.

Believe it or not, Micah, there's actually some science behind why total non-sequitors amuse us so much. It's about surprising "Broca's area" of the brain and advertisers trying to capitalize on it are the reasons we're seeing so much weirdness in commercials lately.
